This water filter (4396508) cartridge is the same as Sears filter number 9902, 46-9902, 2203220, and 4396163.It is located in the grill (bottom front) of the refrigerator. It removes most chlorine, lead, odor and taste. Whirlpool recommends replacing this filter every 6 months.

If you need a better version of this Whirlpool filter (and you need it to remove cysts as well), then part number 4396510 may be right for you. It looks the same as the 4392857 pictured above, but it filters out more impurities. Replaces part numbers 4392922, 4396164, 2203980, 9902, and 46-9902. Whirlpool recommends replacing it every 6 months as well.
